Simple. Gentle. Quiet.
What becomes visible when we slow down? What becomes available?
An embodiment session is a personalized, one-on-one experience. In this warm, in-the-moment space that we create together, we gently see what's present.
I’ll guide you through a simple process of relaxing and noticing.
Releasing the need to fix, change, “figure out” or improve ourselves—even for one or two minutes at a time—is strange and counterintuitive. In the practice of noticing and letting go, we discover that we are already engaged in a developmental process.
What is embodiment?
Embodiment is the willingness to feel. It’s the awareness of physical sensation. Right now, how does your jaw feel? Notice. What about your forehead? Your toes? The noticing is the practice.
Your attention is an asset
This quiet decision to direct your attention is the foundation for a more engaged experience of being alive. When you are “in your body,” you become more aware of what you are sensing, feeling, and experiencing, right now. The body lives in the present. This is why placing our attention on physical sensation connects us to the present moment.
For many of us, this is new
At times, we don’t want to feel. We don’t want to notice. We are reacting to, or running from, discomfort. This is completely understandable.
Our practice is gentle and gradual for this very reason. Tiny moment by tiny moment, we increase our capacity for taking in our own experiences. In the silence, we learn to feel. In time, we bring this skill—this resource—into moments of activity.
What are 1:1 sessions like?
First, we pause. I’ll invite you to notice your own body. I’ll ask you to gently relax your shoulders, jaw, hands, and feet. I call this practice unbracing: noticing the places in your body where you can let go a little. We sit in silence for a bit. Then, we share. We create a warm, open-ended experience together in real time. We make room for what’s present and experience the physicality of taking up space.
Our sessions are virtual. You will receive a meeting link when you book your appointment.
My practice has changed.
Since 2022, I’ve offered coaching inspired by my book, Trust Yourself with Money. I’ve helped my clients relate to their financial circumstances and decision-making with honesty, compassion, and awareness. We’ve done the scary work of adding up numbers—“What is my monthly budget? How much do I actually owe?”—and facing fears. Somatic work was woven into my approach. I was not a financial planner or a financial advisor: I called myself a somatic money coach to capture the breadth and depth of our work. (Visit my testimonials page.) Today, the embodiment practices that supported that work are front and center. I’m offering one-on-one sessions with a new focus.
